After a month experiencing the buzz of the harvest season but not being able to enjoy it ourselves because our grapes will not be ready until next year, we were finally going to get to participate in a harvest of our own.
This weekend, we hosted an outdoor picnic for family and some of our daughter's friends. This is new enough to all of us that at times we were mesmerized by the scene: laughing friends and family holding glasses of sangria or wine while the sun shined on the vines in the background.
After many days of fun in the sun in Sonoma County, we finally have taken a couple of days to do the things that are necessary at the ranch. It was a hard lesson to realize that we can’t play all the time, but that reality seems to be enjoyed by our grandchildren
